Have a look at some photos!
On the 21st January we hosted an evening of stargazing with the telescopes
of the Nottingham Astronomical Society.
Although a cloudy night, two to three hundred people turned up. Through the
telescopes, the planet Jupiter and four of its moons could be seen, also stars
which were identified by the experts from the Nottingham Astronomical Society.
The Wildlife in the City project were also encouraging us to look at nature
at night and led walks around the mystical and majestic woodlands.
It was an enjoyable and informative evening.
We also had a tombola where the star prize was a gold, diamond and garnet ring.
The ring was not won on the night so will be carried forward to the tombola
to be held at the Gala Day on July 8th.
This year's annual Gala Day is to be held on July 8th 2012, it's still in the planning stage at the moment so details to follow. Last year was a great success, the weather was very kind to us and we were blessed with a lovely sunny day. We had numerous stalls including, 'Blood, Guts and Gore' who does television work with lifelike wounds, face painting, crafts, kites, plants, bric a brac, natural healing, and caterers, as well as community stalls such as 'Wildlife in the City' and the Police.
The owl man was there along with displays of dog training, music and dancing.
To raise funds to carry on our work we had 'name the teddy' and tombola which proved to be popular.
A great time seemed to be had by all so put the date in your diary.
